what’s right for you?

All treatments are customized to fit your individual needs; this includes intensity level preference as well as the overall understanding that you are both a physical being as well as a spiritual being. We are trained to “hold space” for both the physical, emotional, and spiritual body.

With this in mind, please choose what best suits your intention and interest. If you require a phone consultation to help direct you better, please keep in mind there is no front desk but we will return your inquiry within 24 hours, hopefully sooner!

services offered

Massage - “A little touch goes a long way”

Touch can initially trigger the sympathetic nervous system. However, after a sustained period of 15 minutes, the parasympathetic nervous system engages. Once this engagement occurs, the release of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, endorphins and a decrease in cortisol will aid and assist in the healing process with longer duration; massage therapy for example.

Thixotopy, is the property of a substance becoming more fluid with movement and heat. Massage has the ability to thin the viscosity of ground substance within the body, especially the connective tissue known as fascia.

Bodywork - “Giving mobility, easing the pain”

Uses the understanding of proper and effective approaches in fascia’s pliability and how this knowledge develops a canvas of deep awareness and limitless capabilities within body*mind to explore a variety of approaches that reach beyond the normal scope of standard massage.

It’s an educational practice for both client and therapist using techniques such as movement analysis, myofascial release, pressure point therapy, joint mobilization, ROM, movement analysis and structural integration.

Spa Treatments - “Health is wealth”

Single session spa day treatments combine massage with body scrubs, abundance of heated towels and unique massage facial treatments in development.

LOMILOMI

Traditional Hawaiian massage technique characterized by continuous, long and flowing strokes; utilizing the forearms at varying speeds and pressures. Enhanced by the motion of water's movement, this unique style promotes deep rhythmic breathing! Aloha’s true translation is the love of breath.

It is a medicine prayer of intentional love for the recipient facilitating the unspoken connection of love with the creator. Only focusing on breath is recommended for LomiLomi’s greatest benefits; no communication throughout the massage aside from any necessary adjustments in temperature and/or body positioning.

INTUITIVE INTEGRATIVE

The signature massage designed from experience and knowledge of integrated approaches to massage; tuning into intuitive rhythm, and client receptivity. Combining a multitude of disciplines into one integrated effect. It's the "I just want a great massage" therapy! Not a standard cookie-cutter recipe massage. Whole body massage requested with a focus on connective tissue and the kneading of the muscles!

deep tissue style

Deeper pressure massage focuses on loosening and lengthening often congested areas of the body. Addressing these challenges with various modalities using a deep approach within difficult areas of the body; incorporating trigger point therapy, myofascial release, polarity, friction, joint mobilization, ROM, structural integration, stretching modalities, and other such mechanical approaches intending for a reflexive state of homeostasis and better functionality. Recommended for overworked muscles and minds. Helping to bring the whole self back into alignment while encouraging deep breathing for greatest results.

sports massage

PRE/POST SPORTING EVENT (1-2 hours following event)

PRE: Using quick stimulating movements of petrissage and facilitated stretching, this approach improves flexibility, reduces muscle fatigue, and helps prevent injuries to prepare you body & mind for optimal performance

POST: Restful and thorough, as this approach helps to repair tissues for optimal recovery so you continue your vigorous athletic schedule.

Hydrotherapy (heat/ice) combined with various learned modalities and/or AR/PNF facilitated stretching, acupressure, trigger point therapy, are technique examples performed in order to pump the muscles full of blood (pre), increase circulation, or relax and repair (post).

PRE/POST WORKOUT (HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING)

Similar approach to standard sports massage but you decide the time period in which to receive the massage within 8 hours of pre or post training sessions. Customized for your active lifestyle.

river stone therapy

Otherwise known as Pohaku in Hawaii. A winter favorite here in the Sierras, with the signature touch of mountain aloha stones gathered from a nearby river bed back in 2005! Penetrating heat from porous volcanic river stones, aid in complete relaxation of especially tired/overused muscles. The effect also creates fantastic pliability for stress relief in the neck, back, and legs. Treatment begins with large 200 degree stones placed between layered towels; acting like a sauna to loosen and relax your entire back while massaging the legs and feet with the heated/oiled stones, then returning to continue on your now pliable upper body.

Medical massage

Used for the repeat client to address chronic pain and sports injury conditions with emphasis on studying the underlying causes and pathology of each specific condition and applying the ortho technique. Trust and confidence in yourself and your therapist must be totally present for this modality to be truly effective. Orthopedic massage is an example of the medicinal massage approach and is only offered for with specific goals in mind. Enroll in an initial assessment and intuitive integrative massage application and we go from there with setting up a customized treatment plan.

mother-to-be

Relax yourself and your baby! Promotes circulation in the extremities while alleviating back pain and eases possible edema discomfort. Performed in side lying position, super supported is the goal, with an array of body pillows and contour neck support. Having gone through the pregnancy and birthing process herself, Lauren’s knowledge and experience shines in this modality; so say all the mamas she's had the honor to work with during such a precious time of their parenting experience.

side lying massage

Alternative way of positioning using an array of body pillows and contour neck support. Can easily become a preferred position! Especially wonderful for avoiding sinus pressure!

lymphatic drainage

A technique which uses extremely light pressure to treat edema (swelling) that has occurred due to tissue trauma, obstruction of lymphatic flow,  or increased capillary pressure. A specific treatment to help manually drain the lymph system by VERY light pressure on the skin and rhythmic activating of all the specific lymph nodes. This treatment is not designed to feel like a massage. No connective tissue therapy is being used. It also has direct benefits to the removal of toxic waste through the lymph system.

tmj massage

Non-invasive intra oral jaw work, palpating both externally and inside the mouth, with the use of surgical gloves. The release of these muscles can result in deep stress relief throughout the entire body and a great nights sleep! This is not designed to be a painful treatment, in fact, completely the opposite of how dental technicians are trained to approach TMJ or lock jaw. You have to experience it once to understand the overall benefits to body/mind awareness.

children’s massage

CHILDREN (5-12 years)

TEENS (13-17 years)

The importance of a healing touch at all stages of our lives is a core value of in fundamentally understanding growth of spiritbodymind. Children are the light in the world and it is an honor to serve their ever changing needs as well.
